Crushed by social pressure and the gaze of others, four young adults are unable to build anything together. Unable to listen to each other, they try to free themselves from the norms in order to find their freedom little by little.

Note of intent by Sarah Eltschinger:

Like an irrepressible need to feel life at all costs.
Because they don't know how to do anything else.
Because they don't know how to do anything other than follow the light.
As if to fill the emptiness in the pit of their stomachs.
As if to be happy, a little.
And they are like the butterflies at night who, blinded by the artificial light, lose their way.
And they dance dance dance dance to death.

Our idea was to stage four adults who are unable to accomplish the task they have been given. As simple as the task may seem at first sight, their respective subjectivities mean that they are unable to talk to each other or understand each other. It is the notion of community that is questioned and dissected in this piece. How can we live together in a world that oppresses, condemns and whose social, family and cultural diktats are everywhere? The choice of the puzzle as an element of scenography results from a desire to create a playing machine for the performers, bringing randomness into an extremely strict score. With this puzzle, the image thus contrasts with the voices of the performers who tell us the story. The image and the sound are treated separately and the spectator reconstructs the story in their own mind, through their own personal subjectivity.
