In their new play, Milo Rau and his team address a theme that has been central to their work for many years: the question of farewell, mourning and death, but also of memory and solidarity in the face of the last moments. Four actors accompany a woman who decides to resort to euthanasia to end her life, and share their personal stories about farewell and rebirth, art and love, memory and forgetting. A moving production that goes to the limits of what can be performed on stage. In the first part of The Private Life Trilogy - Familie (2020) - Milo Rau used the collective suicide of a family to show Western society on the brink of collapse. Apart from the terrible ending, there was only an ordinary evening on stage: a study of the small things, the beauty and banality of everyday life.
